Berber carpets are made by women from Berber tribes. The main raw material for these rugs is the wool of a very specific sheep. A breed characterized by its small size and great robustness. Carpet manufacturing requires great know-how passed down from generation to generation and a lot of patience.
Maintaining a Berber rug begins with how you clean it. It is necessary to vacuum the carpet regularly and as gently as possible. It is best to use a device with a soft tip to avoid damaging it. If there is a stain, you can use baking soda before vacuuming again.
Our custom rugs are made using an artisanal process: each knot is woven by hand, one by one. Once the weaving is finished, the rug is washed then left to dry in the open air, in the mild and dry climate of Morocco. This process takes time, but it guarantees a high quality product, made with respect for traditions.
